The study program for the of 6th year students of FIME on the “Hematology, VI course” involves the study of non-deficient anemia, hemostasis diseases and neoplasms of the hematopoietic and lymphoid tissue with the active use of international and Russian clinical guidelines and treatment protocols for patients.

On the study cycle, students develop skills to identify the symptoms of the disease (interview, physical examination, assessment of the results of laboratory and instrumental studies), study diagnostic algorithms, diagnostic criteria, principles, methods and treatment programs for blood diseases.

In the process of training, students solve clinical problems, forming the skills of interpretation the complete blood and urine counts, biochemical blood tests, evaluating the results of morphological studies of punctate and biopsy of the bone marrow, immunophenotyping of blood and bone marrow cells, immunohistochemical studies of bone marrow, biopsy samples of lymph nodes, cytogenetic and molecular biological research.

  The training in the cycle “Hematology, 6 year” aims to develop students' clinical decision-making skills based on the procedures for providing medical care and modern clinical recommendations for the diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and prevention of hematologic diseases.
